David Nash Sculptures at YSP for The Independent.

Last week I went down to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park to shoot some pix of the new exhibition featuring work by David Nash.

The exhibition includes work from the artist's forty year career and offers a vivid statement of his life's work. This is envisaged to be the largest exhibition, present or future, by an internationally acclaimed artist who has developed an eloquent understanding of trees, working with their traits to create sculpture, installation, projects and related drawings.

The show was a collaboration with fellow photographer & graphic designer, Rachel Codling.

Election Hustings, Morley, Leeds for The Independent.

Last Friday I covered the latest stop of The Independent's soapbox debate tour of Britain, in the marginal seat of Morley and Outwood. Loads of press there as Labour's Ed Balls is running for election, the seat has also been a major target for the Conservative's.
It was very lively event with banners demanding jobs for British
workers and also a vocal contingent of far-right activists supporting the British National Party.

Shoot was commissioned for The Independent through UNP .

Opps!

Well, I was really hoping to start this blog with funny story about some job I have done recently. However, sometimes in life you have to learn to laugh at yourself or just smile when things go a bit wrong.

So just a couple of min's after finishing a job in Leeds, I was talking through the shoot with Sian Thody, a final year student at Leeds College of Art, who joined me for the day. I picked up my backpack, not realising that the zip had broken and out flew my new shiny D700 - it's fair to say the pavement won!

Right that's the last time I write about things going wrong - unless they are funny!
